Privacy your details

How I use your details.

What this website collects, why, and what you can ask me to do with it. Last updated 20th October 2026.

Who I am

Hover State is based in Glasgow. Hover State LTD, registered in Scotland, company number SC677293. For anything about your details, email chris@hover-state.co.uk.

What I collect

Only what you send me through the contact form: your name, your email address, your agency’s name if you add it, and your message. If you email or call me directly, I’ll have your email address or phone number and whatever you tell me.

This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or any other tracking, and doesn’t load anything from other companies’ servers. Like any website, the companies that host it keep short-term technical logs (such as IP addresses) to keep it running and secure.

Why I use it

To reply to your enquiry and, if we go on to work together, to run the project and invoice for it. The law allows this because you’ve asked me to get in touch (legitimate interests) and, once we’re working together, because it’s needed for our contract.

I won’t add you to a mailing list or send you marketing, and I never sell or share your details.

Where it’s kept

Messages from the form are saved in this website’s content management system, hosted by webhostuk.co.uk in UK, and emailed to me through webhostuk.co.uk.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that don’t become projects are deleted after 12 months. If we work together, I keep project emails and records for as long as the work needs them, and invoices for six years, as UK law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see the details I hold about you, have them corrected or deleted, or object to how I use them. Email chris@hover-state.co.uk and I’ll reply within a month.

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
