01 The brief
DAUNS is a vegan, Scandinavian-inspired café, bar and deli near Spitalfields in East London, founded by Rickard Daun. It serves homemade food, from buns and sandwiches to Swedish hot dogs, and caters for events.
02 What I did
I built a custom WordPress theme with as much personality as the café: bold colours, big type set on curves, and a single scrolling page that covers everything a visitor needs.
Playful type. The opening screen cycles through messages set on curved lines in the brand colours.
Everything on one page. About, menu, reviews, catering, gallery and contact, with a reviews carousel (Flickity) and a lightbox gallery (Fancybox).
WooCommerce. An online shop with conditional shipping, plus Mailchimp newsletter sign-up.
Bookings and FAQs. Clear routes to book a table or ask about catering.
03 The result
A site that feels like the café itself: colourful, friendly and easy to use.
